– None MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETINGThe
Minutes of the Meeting held on 25th September 2006 were
approved and signed. DECLARATIONS OF INTERESTMrs.
Sleath declared an interest to the Application for Consent to Work on
Horse Chestnut Tree at Nook Farmhouse, Grimston. MATTERS ARISINGLeics.
Constabulary - V.C. Relay. The
Clerk circulated V.C. Relay Questionnaire and Authorisation Forms for
the Parish Councillors to complete. Dog
Fouling & Litter - The
Chairman to display the Litter Bin Stickers in Grimston. White Posts, Saxelbye - Clerk reported on request for all the White Posts in Saxelbye to be re-instated. Agreed the Posts should be re-instated if majority of Saxelbye residents are in favour. Decided the Clerk writes to Leics. County Council asking if they have any objections to the Posts being re-instated by Nickolls Old House and Ferndale and request estimate for Oak Posts and installation. Clerk to inform Mr. Bailey. Play Area Safety Surface - Agreed Nathan should continue to rake the surface weather permitting. Trees - Clerk to contact Paul Ford to enquire when work to trees will be carried out. Bus Shelter & Post Repairs - Not yet been carried out. Chairman to contact Tony Best. CORRESPONDENCE The following items were brought to the attention of the Council:- Melton Borough Council - Clean Neighbourhoods & Environment Act (Dog Control Orders 2006). Chairman and Mr. Davies agreed to attend Training. Melton Borough Council - Parish Council Liaison Meeting. Mr. Davies reported on Meeting attended. Questions and Answers Handout circulated for information. Decided Clerk writes to Chief Executive & Leader of Council to request Minutes be taken at Liaison Meetings and followed up with action taken included in ‘Matters Arising’ at the next Meeting. Melton Borough Council - Community Newsletter. Melton Borough Council - National Tree Week. Melton Borough Council - Pride of Place (Historic Environment Improvement Grant). Passed to Church. Leics. MATTERS 18 Main Street, Saxelbye (Application No. 06/00803/FUL). New detached garage, two storey side extension and single storey rear extension. Replace concrete facade with brick. The Parish Council supports the application and suggests dormer windows should be included similar to neighbouring houses to be ‘in keeping’. Nook Farmhouse, Shoby Lane, Grimston (Application No. 06/00883/TPO). The Vice-Chairman took over as Mrs. Sleath declared an interest. Re-shape Horse Chestnut Tree and remove lower branches. The Parish Council agreed to support the application. Melton Borough
Council Constitution Task Group. The
Clerk circulated the Protocol for Requesting and Conduct of Site
Inspections for future reference. ANY

Mr.
Davies requested the Play Area Safety Surface and Village Connect
Magazine be put on the Agenda of the next Meeting. Mr.
Davies asked the opinion of the Parish Council on the removal of 2 trees
growing in hedge by gate on Shoby Lane.
To report back at next Meeting. Curates
Folly, Main Street, Grimston. It
has been brought to the attention of the Parish Council the site map of
the sale particulars includes part of the Village Green. The Clerk to liaise with Mr. Easom and inform Bentons the
Village Green belongs to the Parish Council. Mr.
Morris reported he has received a request from a resident of Saxelbye
for horses and riders to keep off mown areas.
