UNAPPROVED MINUTESMINUTES OF THE ANNUAL PARISH MEETING OF GRIMSTON, SAXELBYE AND SHOBY PARISH COUNCIL HELD ON MONDAY 30TH APRIL 2007 AT GRIMSTONPRESENTMrs.

Members of the Public The
Chairman welcomed everyone to the Meeting.
She introduced Cllr. Orson and Mr.
John Frogatt, Director of East Midlands Airport. Mr.
Frogatt gave a Talk and Visual Presentation on East Midlands Airport.
He reported on the history, the Master Plan and the future of
East Midland Airport. He
then asked the Parish Council and members of the public for any
questions or comments. Questions
were asked regarding noise levels, approach routes, military aircraft,
night cargo flights and possible second runway.
Mr. Davies asked for an explanation on regulation and
de-regulation of the airport.
The
Chairman thanked Mr. Frogatt for his informative interesting Talk and he
then left the Meeting. APOLOGIES

P.C. Taylor. MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETINGThe
Minutes of the Meeting held on 26th April 2006 were approved
and signed as a true record by Mrs. Sleath.
Proposed by Mrs. Grace and seconded by Mr. Cowdell. MATTERS
ARISING Trees - Mrs. Gibbins stated she has grown a tree to plant on the Green. Mr. Easom commented there is nowhere on the Green to put a large tree. He suggested removing the Sycamore Tree and replacing with Horse Chestnut Tree. Parish decided Sycamore Tree should not be removed. Decided the Parish Council would discuss trees at the next Meeting and report back to Mrs. Gibbins. Play Area - Comments were made that the Play Area Safety Surface has not been replaced. Clerk reported following last year’s Annual Parish Meeting estimates had been obtained to replace with rubber matting or wet pore rubber surface. The Parish Council had decided the cost was too high to replace at the present time as this was not a priority. Mr. Davies stated the Safety Surface should be replaced and decided the Parish Council would discuss again at the next Meeting. Clerk to look into possible Grant funding. ADOPTION OF ACCOUNTSThe Accounts having
been circulated, their adoption was proposed by Mr. Juba and seconded by
Mr. Easom. CHAIRMAN’S REPORTMrs.
Sleath began by thanking her fellow Parish Councillors for their support
and the Clerk for her hard work. She
thanked Mrs. Gibbins for litter picking, Richard Cowdell and Cllr. Joe
Orson. She reported she had
served on the Parish Council for 30 years and thanked the Parish
Councillors for the Lunch at the Black Horse on her 30th
Anniversary. She reported
there had been many Planning and Tree Applications to consider this year
and stated the garage at Windyridge had now been reverted back to use as
a garage. She stated she
had attended a very interesting film at Melton Borough Council on Global
Warming. She
reported the Bus Shelters have been repaired and stained and the 30 mph
limit has been extended through Grimston. ANY
OTHER BUSINESS Comments were made that
it was difficult for buses to pass on Perkins Lane. Decided there are already enough Signs in Grimston and there
is no solution to the problem. 27 Main Street, Grimston (Planning Application No. 07/00398/FUL) - Erection of one dwelling. It was reported Melton Borough Council has not displayed a Notice on the telegraph pole. Clerk to inform Melton Borough Council and extend observations until after next Parish Council Meeting. Clerk to organise Site Meeting. White Posts, Saxelbye - The Clerk reported the application for Asfordby Mine Environmental Grant has been successful for 78% of the cost. Leics. County Council has now been instructed to re-instate all the white posts in Saxelbye. Advance notice of road closure Perkins Lane & Main Street, Grimston. Clerk reported carriageway re-surfacing due to take place sometime in June/July. Clerk to inform Highways of Grimston Open Gardens on Sunday 10th June. Mrs. Sleath thanked everyone for attending and then declared the Meeting closed. | |||
