MINUTES OF A MEETING OF GRIMSTON, SAXELBYE AND SHOBY PARISH COUNCILHELD
ON TUESDAY 27TH SEPTEMBER 2005 AT GRIMSTON

P.C. Page reported on vehicle thefts in the Parish and haystack fires in the Borough. He announced he will be leaving his current post in October due to structure changes and P.C. Martin Taylor (ID No. 1235) will be new Local Rural Beat Officer. He will be committed to post for 3 years. The Chairman thanked P.C. Page for his support and work in the Parish and wished him every success in his new post. MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETINGThe Minutes of the Meeting held on 30th August 2005 were approved and signed. DECLARATIONS OF INTERESTThe Members had no interests to declare at this stage. PLANNING MATTERSChurch Farm, Grimston (05/00741/LBC) - Repair/Replace 3 windows in existing bedrooms & bathroom. The Parish Council agreed to support the application. Land off Loughborough Road, Shoby (05/00807/OUT) - Construction of stable barn and all weather exercise area together with provision of mobile home staff accommodation. The Parish Council agreed to support the application. The Old Goods Yard, Grimston Station, Saxelbye - Clerk reported the Secretary of State has dismissed the Application of Appeal. Circulated Report for information. Windyridge, Grimston - Approval of Planning Permission received. Asfordby Wind Farm – Following
on from the last Meeting the
Chairman proposed the Parish Council oppose the siting of a Wind Farm at
Asfordby for the benefit of the Parish.
3 against the proposal to oppose.
Motion not carried. Village Envelope Consultation – The Clerk distributed the Draft Local Plan to the Parish Councillors and reported it would be delivered to all dwellings in Grimston next week. The Consultation Meeting will be held on Tuesday 18th October at 7.30 at Grimston Village Hall. Mr. David Pendle, Melton Borough Council Policy Officer and Cllr. Nigel Angrave will attend the Meeting. Clerk and Chairman to liaise and prepare for Consultation Meeting. MATTERS ARISING Shoby Bends – Clerk reported confirmation of road safety scheme enclosing plan has been received and included in 2005/6 Capital Programme. Passed correspondence to Chairman. Extension of 30 mph Speed Limit Grimston – The Parish Council agree with proposed Extension of Speed Limit in Grimston re. Drawing No. TM580/1/2005 and have no observations. Grimston Play Area – Mr. Easom reported the hazardous material has been removed. Mrs. Sleath reported the grass needs cutting - Clerk to contact Summerland Contractors. CORRESPONDENCE The following items were brought to the attention of the Council:- Melton Borough Council – Community Newsletter. Not relevant. Melton Borough Council – National Tree Week. Melton Borough Council – Pilot Standards Scheme. File for future reference. Booklets Handed Out:- Village Voice. Clerks & Council Direct Emda Annual Report Community Council of Lincs. Magazine. NOTICE BOARD The Parish Council agreed to purchase oak 2 bay Notice Board (1 bay glazed) with header from Greenbarnes Ltd. approximate cost £520.00. Clerk to liaise with Mrs. Sleath & Mr. Morris. ANY
OTHER BUSINESS Mr. Morris reported blocked drains on Ostlers Lane have been dealt with but the manhole has not been repaired. Also drain on left by bridge on Saxelbye Road to Asfordby blocked. Clerk to report to Highways Dept. Mrs. Sleath reported on LRAPLC Melton Branch Meeting attended.
