SHOBY PARISH COUNCIL HELD ON M0NDAY 19TH JANUARY AT GRIMSTON

MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING

The Minutes of the Meeting held on 8th December 2008 were approved and signed.

MATTERS ARISING

Annual Parish Meeting - The Clerk reported Jenny Allsop is able to attend on Wednesday 29th April to talk on History of Grimston.  Agreed Annual Parish Meeting to be held at Grimston Village Hall on 29th April at 7.30 pm.  Mr. Easom to ask Brian Ravenscroft for loan of screen and projector.

CORRESPONDENCE

The following items were brought to the attention of the Council:-

Play Area Inspection - Clerk reported correspondence received from ROSPA and Record RSS Ltd. quoting for Annual Inspection.  Decided Annual Inspection to be carried out by ROSPA and Clerk to arrange appointment for Chairman with Inspector.

Melton Borough Council - Environmental ‘Tidy Up’.  Clerk to inform Melton Borough Council the new street name signs requested in August 2007 have not been installed and Play Area footpath still needs spraying.

Leics. County Council - Section 119 Highways Act 1980.  Approval has been given for the making of an Order in respect of Diversion of Footpaths G68, H9, H20A, H23, G66 and Bridleway G67.

Leics. County Council - Partnership Funding for Rural Bus Shelters.

LARALC - Newsletter

Dept. for Communities & Local Government - Code of Recommended Practice.  Circulated.

Melton West Community Forum - Next Meeting to be held on Thursday 26th March.

Rural Community Council - Leics. & Rutland Best Village Competition.

Leics. Police Authority Local Consultation Meeting 10th February.  Mrs. Sleath to attend.

PLANNING MATTERS

Bumble Cottage, Main Street, Grimston (Application No. 08/00966/CL).  Application for a Lawful Development Certificate for use of domestic ancillary building as a Self-contained Residential Annexe.  The Parish Council agreed they had no observations. 

Shoby Priory, Shoby (Application No. 08/00962/FUL & 08/00963/LBC).  Extend and alter dwelling.

The Parish Council support the Application.

Clerk to inform Highways of pot holes in Grimston:-

1.  Past Nook Farm on Shoby Lane

2.  Between Hives Farm and Church on Main Street

3.  Pot holes in middle of road past Bus Shelter going up to Black Horse (opposite bungalow)
