MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETINGThe
Minutes of the Meeting held on 26th July 2005 were approved
and signed. DECLARATIONS OF INTERESTThe
Members had no interests to declare at this stage. MATTERS ARISINGShoby Crossroads - Clerk reported on details of the roundabout at Ashwell. Decided discuss at next Meeting. Cllr. Orson stated interim measures at Shoby Crossroads should be carried out by Xmas. Extension of 30 mph Speed Limit Grimston. Agreed in principle with Dave Marshall of Leics. County Council to extend 30 mph speed limit in Main Street to village nameplate and in Perkins Lane to beyond the access of Ashlea, 7 Perkins Lane. CORRESPONDENCE The following items were brought to the attention of the Council:- Alan Duncan MP. Asking for Parish Council’s views on red telephone boxes and road signs & other streetscape by end of September. Decided to discuss further at next Meeting. Anne Dames, Chairman of Melton Branch of LRAPLC. Unnecessary clutter of signs etc. in Parish. Not relevant. Leics. County Council – Waymarking of Public Rights of Way. Requesting names & addresses of landowners/tenants on highlighted paths. Clerk to liase with Mr. Morris & Mr. Easom. Leics. County Council – 2005/06 Highway Maintenance Programme. Countryside Agency – Consultative Map of Regional Common Land & Open Country. Rural Community Council. Evaluation questionnaire completed. Office of the Deputy Prime Minister. Award for Sustainable Communities. Not relevant. Campaign to Protect Rural England. Planning Workshop to be held 26th October. No one available to attend. County Air Ambulance Charity. Request for placement of recycling clothes bank and door-to-door clothing collections in Parish. Decided to discuss further at next Meeting. OTHER BUSINESS The Clerk commented Village Life has enquired regarding the Grimston Station photo on the Parish website. The Chairman stated he would be happy for Village Life to publish the photo and there would be no copyright problems because the photo is over 70 years.
