1 Member of the Public The Chairman welcomed member of the public and thanked Mr. Lomas for being Chairman at the last Meeting in his absence. APOLOGIES - Cllr. J. Orson MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETINGThe Minutes of the Meeting held on 19th December 2007 were approved and signed. DECLARATIONS OF INTERESTMr. Lomas declared an interest to the planning application for Shoby Lodge Cottage, Shoby.MATTERS ARISINGStocks - Clerk reported received estimate from Mr. Rowley of £3270.00 for work to the Stocks. Parish Council agreed to accept the quotation. Clerk to apply for Asfordby Mine Grant and Shire Historic Building Grant. White Posts - Clerk reported Belvoir Saw Mill still unable to supply posts. Parish Council agreed cancel order at Belvoir Saw Mill and purchase 6 shaped oak posts from J.N. Morris & Son, Honeypot Lane Saw Mill at £85.33 + VAT each. Melton Local Development Framework Development Plan Document - Clerk reported Melton Borough Council has approved for consultation Option 1 of the Core Strategy (Issues & Options) Document meaning Grimston would become Category 3 village. Consultation will begin at end of January for 6 weeks. Decided Clerk invites Mr. David Pendle, Principal Planning Policy Officer, to attend next Parish Council Meeting for consultation. CORRESPONDENCE The following items were brought to the attention of the Council:- Melton Borough Council - Parish Council Liaison Agenda Setting Meeting. Parish Council has no items for Agenda. No one available to attend Meeting on 30th January. Decided a representative of Parish Council attends next Liaison Meeting on 9th April. Government Office for the East Midlands - Publication of the Draft East Midlands Plan Panel Report. Booklets Handed Out:- The Flyer Clerks & Councils Direct ACCOUNTS Current Account £3208.67 Deposit Account £2999.48 Cheques signed as follows:- E-on £ 59.56 Leics. County Council (Horse Chestnut Tree) £195.13 M. Fenton (Salary) £275.00 PLANNING MATTERS Shoby Lodge Cottage, Loughborough Rd., Shoby (Application No. 07/01343/FUL). Proposed alterations to Shoby Lodge Cottage and Bed & Breakfast Unit. The Parish Council has no observations. Orchard House, 31 Main Street, Grimston - (Application No. 07/01194/OUT). Outline Planning Permission received. Grimston Stud, 75 Main Street, Grimston (Application No. 07/01249/OUT). Outline Planning Permission received. ANY OTHER BUSINESS Annual Parish Meeting - Chairman asked for suggestions for guest speaker. Clerk to contact Jenny Allsopp regarding History of Grimston. Put on Agenda for next Meeting. Old Dalby Test Track Proposed Development - Chairman reported on informative Meeting attended at Old Dalby. Public Exhibition to be held at Old Dalby Village Hall on 28th & 29th January. Old School Room Saxelbye - Mr. Morris reported the windows need to be replaced to maintain building. Received estimate of £7000. Parish Council agreed to pay contribution towards new windows. Complaint been received of settee dumped in Webb’s gateway on Main Street, Saxelbye. Clerk to inform Melton Borough Council. Request has been made for streets to be swept in Saxelbye. Clerk to inform Melton Borough Council. Manhole on the crossroads at Saxelbye is gushing water again. Clerk to inform Leics. Highways. Mr. Morris reported on 12th January HGV lorry was stuck in Saxelbye unable to go under bridge. ‘Sat Nav’ had directed lorry down Ostlers Lane. Decided Clerk contacts Cllr. Orson and ask if Leics.
