Mr. B. Chapman MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING The
Minutes of the Meeting held on 8th May 2006 were approved and
signed. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST The
Members had no interests to declare at this stage. MATTERS ARISING Work on Trees - The Clerk reported the Application for Consent to Work on trees has been submitted to Melton Borough Council. Bus Shelters - Richard Sleath to provide estimate for repairs. Grass Verges - Clerk reported Mike Sheldrake will contact Trudgett’s to request the grass verges are re-instated when building work has been completed. Cllr. Orson suggested for the future a Section 106 Notice could be put on Approval Conditions to re-instate grass verges. Play Area - R.O.S.P.A. has now carried out Safety Inspection. Mr. Lomas to carry out minor repairs to fencing, wooden board and goal post socket. Decided Mr. Easom would ask Nathan to rake safety surface weekly and be paid basic wage. Play Area Safety Surface - Chairman and Clerk reported on meeting with representative from Wicksteed. To be discussed further at next Meeting when received estimates for safety grass and wet pore surface. Saxelbye Notice Board - Clerk reported the Board has now been delivered. Agreed Richard Sleath would put up. Extension of Speed Limit, Grimston - Order will come into force on 17th July 2006. Leics. County Council Rights of Way Improvement Plan Consultation - The Village Hall Committee agreed to Plan being displayed in Village Hall. Decided Clerk would purchase Perspex frame and liaise with Richard Cowdell. Clerk to obtain further copy of plan for Saxelbye. CORRESPONDENCE The following items were brought to the attention of the Council:- Lynn Aisbett, Chief Executive of Melton Borough Council – Re. Annual Parish Meeting Melton Borough Council – Mini Recycling Site at Village Hall to be removed unless Parish Council covers the deficit of £287.00 per annum. Agreed the Site should be removed. Clerk to put note in Village Life. Melton Borough Council - Parish Councillors Travel Expenses. East Midlands Regional Assembly - East Midlands Regional Plan. Welland Community Catalyst Celebration Event. Passed to Chairman. Leics. Crimestoppers - Request for donation. Agreed to keep to policy of not donating to charity from Parish Funds. LRAPLC – May Update & AGM. Melton Borough Council - Borough & Parish Council Liaison Meeting to be held 28th September. Melton Borough Council - Community Newsletter.

The Chairman and Clerk signed the relevant sections and the Clerk to return to the External Auditor. Agreed Clerk purchase bottle of whisky for Mr. Rhodes. PLANNING MATTERS Land off Loughborough Rd., Shoby - (Application No. 06/00398/REM) Construction of stable barn & all weather exercise area together with provision of mobile home staff accommodation. The Parish Council agreed to support the application. Cedar

The Parish Council object because outside the current village
envelope line and do not wish to create a precedent.

Ostlers Lane, Saxelbye - Mr. Morris reported complaint has been received regarding condition of road surface. Clerk reported Leics. Highways have stated surface dressing will be included in programme of works for Spring 2007. Manhole Cover at Saxelbye Turn needs repairing. Clerk to remind Highways Dept. Tyres on Wartnaby Rd., Saxelbye - Clerk to inform Melton Borough Council. DATE AND VENUE OF NEXT MEETING Monday 17th July 2006 at 7.30 pm at Grimston.
