MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF GRIMSTON, SAXELBYE ANDSHOBY PARISH COUNCIL HELD ON WEDNESDAY 7TH OCTOBER AT GRIMSTONPRESENTMr. E. Morris (Chairman) Mr. R Easom Mr. A. Lomas Mrs. L. Smith Mrs. M. Orson 3 Councillors and Clerk of Broughton & Dalby Parish Council 2 Members of the Public Kate Sharpe - Community Development Officer of Rural Community Council APOLOGIES - Mrs. Sleath The Chairman welcomed everyone to the Meeting. Kate Sharpe, Community Development Officer of Rural Community Council, outlined the Quality Council Scheme. She explained what is involved to gain Quality Council status and the benefits. She discussed Parish Plans and the importance of getting the community involved. She then invited questions. Broughton & Dalby Parish Council commented on the Clerk’s Course and amount of work involved. The Chairman thanked Kate Sharpe for attending and commented the Parish Council would carefully consider whether becoming a Quality Council would be beneficial. She then left the Meeting. DECLARATIONS OF INTERESTThe Members had no interests to declare at this stage.MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETINGThe Minutes of the Meeting held on 2nd September 2009 were approved and signed. MATTERS ARISINGHeritage Warden - The Chairman welcomed Alison Halliday to the Meeting. Now been officially appointed as Heritage Warden by Leics. County Council and she reported on Training Event recently attended. Car Parking - Laura Smith commented the Village Hall Committee has agreed they would raise awareness with hirers to be considerate when parking. Shoby Lane Name Plate - Clerk reported e-mail received from Melton Borough Council stating Street Name Plate has been installed short distance down lane to avoid problems for postman and emergency services. Oak Tree - Clerk reported at the present time there does not appear to be any problems with BT lines from Oak Tree. Community Forum West - Chairman and Laura Smith reported on Funding Workshop recently attended at Ashby Folville. CORRESPONDENCE The following items were brought to the attention of the Council:- B.T. - Parish Council to consider adopting Red Telephone Kiosk in Grimston. Decided all residents in Grimston to receive ‘Reply Slip’ in Village Life asking for their opinion. Slips to be returned to Box outside Village Hall. Clerk to ask Melton Borough Council if ban on removing phone boxes applies to Grimston. To discuss further at next Meeting. Melton Borough Council - Parish Council Liaison Meeting. Chairman and Laura to attend. Leics. County Council - Clean Neighbourhoods & Environment Act 2005. Spray Paint Sales and Graffiti. Not aware of any problems in Parish. Leics. Fire & Rescue Service - Forum. Chairman to attend. Leics. County Council - The Big Switch Off 2009. Posters placed on Notice Boards. Melton Borough Council. Consultation for proposed plans for new Council Offices.

Decided Parish Council suggest to Melton Borough Council a Condition be made that suitable trees are planted to replace trees removed.
