approved and signed. DECLARATIONS OF INTERESTThe
Members had no interests to declare at this stage. MATTERS ARISINGAsfordby Mine Environmental Improvement Grants. Mr. Hayes of Leics. County Council to meet Mrs. Sleath and discuss possible Grant for fencing & hedge improvements at Play Area and lengthen passing places on Wartnaby Road, Saxelbye. Clerk to contact Ab Kettleby Parish Council and discuss further at next Meeting. LRAPLC Clerks Course. Clerk reported on Course attended at Uppingham. Parish Council agreed the Agenda should be more specific listing Planning Applications to be considered and itemising matters to be discussed. Parish Councillors to inform Clerk of any items to be put on Agenda at least 1 week before Parish Council Meeting. Nottingham East Midlands Airport. Comments to be received by 10th January 2005. Agreed Parish Council does not support changes and would prefer the controlled airspace remain as it is now. Clerk to complete Response Form. The Stocks. Complaints have been received that the Stocks are not complete. Chairman reported the repairs have been carried out and just need putting together. Parish Council agreed Chairman asks Mr. Best to deal with. PLANNING
MATTERS 26 Main Street, Grimston 04/01008/FUL - Proposed Granny Annexe (Mr. & Mrs. E. Street). The Parish Council has no observations. 1A Perkins Lane, Grimston 04/00934/TPO - Application for Consent to Work on Trees (Mr. J. Read). Parish Council agreed the Clerk writes to Melton Borough Council and suggests the Application should be refused. A similar Application was made in March 2003, which was refused. Agreed this is an ancient tree not close enough to Mr. Read’s property to be any danger. Shoby Lodge Farm, Shoby 04/01069/FUL – Proposed New Garage & Games Room. (Mr. & Mrs. JA. Lomas). Mr. Lomas declared an interest. The Parish Council has no observations. The Spring House, 5 Main Street, Grimston (04/01066) Application for Consent to Work on Trees. For Information Only. The Cottage, 19 Main Street, Grimston (04/00804/LBC). Listed Building Consent received. Arrangements for Development Committee Site Inspections. Chairman reported on Meeting attended at Melton Borough Council. Comments to made by 28th January. Parish Council agreed Site Meetings are very important. They help protect the character of the area in question and environmental impact. Clerk to write to Melton Borough Council. Agreed 1 representative will attend proposed Parish Councils Training on Planning Applications. Melton Borough Council Planning Seminar/Workshop Event to be held on Thursday 27th January. 5 representatives to attend. Mr. Davies left the Meeting due to feeling unwell. CORRESPONDENCE The following items were brought to the attention of the Council:- Clerk to the Governors of Old Dalby Primary School – Governing Body Membership. Asking Parish Council to nominate Community Governor. Mr. Easom suggested should be parent of School and would make enquiries in Grimston. Rural Community Council - 2005 Diary of Villages & Events. Passed to Village Hall Committee. Melton Borough Council – Dispensation to Members of Parish Councils. Standards Board – Guidance for Members. Lobby groups, dual-hatted members and the Code of Conduct. Circulated. Coalville Police Station - Pride Alarms Charity. Passed to Mrs Sleath. LRAPLC – December Update. £ 66.58 Parish Council Precept Form 2005/2006. Agreed to request £4000.00 as per last year on the Precept Form. The Form was signed by the Parish Councillors present and the Parish Clerk. The Parish Council agreed the Clerk’s salary be increased to £600 per annum plus expenses from 1st April 2005. The Clerk thanked the Council. ANY
OTHER BUSINESS Waste Bin by Bus Shelter, Grimston. Mrs. Sleath commented the Bin is frequently overflowing although emptied regularly. Parish Council agreed additional bin should be placed on other side of road. Clerk to contact Melton Borough Council and discuss at next Meeting. Shoby Lane, Grimston. The road opposite the corn dryer is eroding away in places and there are large pot holes. Clerk to inform Highways Dept. Chairman reported there is a big pot hole by pepper pot on Wartnaby Road, Saxelbye. Clerk to inform Highways Dept. DATE AND VENUE OF NEXT MEETINGTuesday,
