MINUTES OF THE ANNUAL MEETING OF GRIMSTON, SAXELBYE ANDSHOBY PARISH COUNCILHELD ON WEDNESDAY 4TH MAY 2005 AT GRIMSTONPRESENTMr.

Chairman welcomed everyone to the Meeting.
The Chairman thanked Cllr. Chapman for the support he had given
the Parish Council over the last 16 years as County Councillor and
wished him a happy retirement. The
Parish Council presented to Cllr. Chapman an engraved crystal tankard
and Mrs. Chapman a bouquet of flowers. Cllr.
Chapman thanked the Parish Council and stated he would still be
interested in Parish affairs particularly developments at Shoby
Crossroads. APOLOGIES - None
ELECTION OF OFFICERSMr. John Davies was elected Chairman, proposed by Mr. Easom and seconded by Mr. Lomas. Mrs.
Margaret Sleath was elected Vice Chairman, proposed by Mr. Morris and
seconded by Mr.
Easom. MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETINGThe
Minutes of the Meeting held on 21st April 2005 were approved
and signed. DECLARATIONS OF INTERESTThe Members had no interests to declare at this stage. MATTERS ARISINGMelton Local Development Framework Village Envelope Consultation Scheme. Cllr. Angrave reported that the consultation would be delayed until late Summer. Shoby Cross Roads Clerk reported on letter received from Mr. Mike Hay referring to recent site visit. When funds are available he will inform Parish Council of firm proposals. Play Area Inspection Clerk reported cushionfill for play surface should be ordered before ROSPA inspection. Decided Clerk liase with Mr. Morris. Saxelbye Telephone Kiosk Clerk reported BT have agreed payphone to remain for time being. The usage will be monitored and reviewed at a later date. Clerk to inform Websters Dairy. MATTERS
ARISING ANNUAL PARISH MEETING Neighbourhood Watch Scheme. Clerk reported she has contacted Gwilda Holmes, Community Co-ordinator and she has agreed to come out and meet Parish Council and volunteers. Decided to leave until Autumn and discuss at same time as Village Envelope Consultation. CORRESPONDENCE

Jefferies) thanking Parish Council for generous donation and asking for account of Parish Council Meetings for inclusion in Village Life. Decided Clerk reports anything relevant in Village Life. Clerk reported no decision has yet been made.
Melton Borough Council has contacted Alstom UK Ltd. and waiting
for their comments. 19 Main Street, Grimston (Application No. 05/00331/LBC). Internal doorway widened, existing door replaced & window & chimney alterations. Parish Council has no observations. Red
House, Grimston. Complaints have been received that 2 big windows have been
replaced facing due west and not in keeping with house.
Clerk to contact Planning Dept. and report back at next Meeting.

Lodge Farm, Shoby (05/00388).
Agricultural Determination Form received. Site
Inspections - Clerk reported on letter from Melton Borough Council
regarding revised site inspections protocol for planning applications. Planning
Training Session at
Asfordby Parish Hall. Clerk
to confirm date with Melton Borough Council and inform Parish
Councillors. ANY
OTHER BUSINESS Mr.
Lomas stated there is an Open Day at Melton Mowbray Court on 21st
May. Clerk to put Poster on
Notice Board. Grass
verges around Grimston need re-instating.
Chairman proposed a survey be carried out to determine which
grass verges require attention. Big
pot hole outside Walkers Farm, Shoby and opposite grain dryer on
Shoby Lane. Clerk to inform
Highways Dept. Mrs.
Sleath thanked the Clerk for organising the present for Cllr. Chapman.
Mr. Easom thanked Mr. Morris for his hard work as Chairman for
the past year. The
Chairman asked for the following items to be placed on the Agenda of the
next Meeting. Village
Seats, Grimston Post Box and Changes to Controlled Airspace at N.E.M.A. DATE AND VENUE OF NEXT MEETINGTuesday,
14th June 2005 at 7.30 pm at Grimston.
