Minutes of the Meeting held on the 27th July 2004 were
approved and signed. DECLARATIONS OF INTERESTThe
Members had no interests to declare at this stage. MATTERS ARISINGPlay Area - The Clerk reported Playdale have lowered seat & replaced split timber support. Black/yellow chevrons have been put on telegraph pole support lines. 20 Bags cushionfill required. Decided Clerk orders 50 Bags cushionfill and Mrs. Sleath agreed to provide storage. Important the play surface is raked regularly. Agreed Clerk advertises in Village Life for volunteer. Mrs. Sleath commented the goal post pegs have not yet been put in. Parish Council agreed they are happy for Playground Warning Sign to be positioned outside 10 Main Street (marked S2 in yellow paint). Clerk to inform Leics. County Council. 30
mph Speed Limit Grimston Parish Council agreed
Leics. County Council compares cost of Traffic Regulation Order and
Street Light. The Parish
Council would be in favour of street light being installed if only way
of introducing extension to 30 mph Speed Limit. CORRESPONDENCE The following items were brought to the attention of the Council:- Burton & Dalby Parish Council Legality of Selection of Wheeled Bin Refuse Collection System. The Chairman asked the members of the public present for their views on the new system. They agreed the frequency of collection is the only issue. Parish Council agreed Clerk writes to Burton & Dalby Parish Council stating they do not wish to pursue the matter. Decided they will wait until the questionnaire and evaluation has taken place before making any comments. Mr. Easom suggested Clerk arranges Cllr. Angrave attends Parish Council Meeting, display on Notice Board that he will attend and invite members of the public to come along and give their views. Parish Council agreed. Leics. £ 15.00 Hacker Young have now completed Audit of Annual Return to 31/3/2004. Notice of Conclusion of Audit & Right to Inspect Annual Return has been displayed on Notice Board. Quality Control Questionnaire has been completed. PLANNING MATTERS27 Main Street, Grimston (04/00624/FUL). Refused by Development Committee on 31st August. Mr. Easom reported he had put the record straight to a member of the public that their had been no skulduggery. The Parish Council did not know the Applications would be considered out of sequence. The Parish Council agreed they were not happy with the proposed Condition of Approval that the access drive be surfaced with tarmac for a distance of at least 10 metres. The Parish Council was concerned that if the Application had been approved would they be able to object to Conditions? Decided to discuss further at next Parish Council Meeting. The
Black Horse, Grimston (Application No. 04/00187/FUL). Copy of Amended Plan & Parking Requirements has now been
received from Melton Borough Council.
Decided Clerk contact Melton Borough Council to enquire on latest
developments and discuss further at next Parish Council Meeting. Application
for Conservation Area Consent Nook Cottage, Shoby Lane, Grimston Melton
Local Development Framework Countryside Discussion Paper.

OTHER BUSINESS Chairman reported a complaint has been received regarding low flying aircraft. The members of the public were asked for their comments. Agreed planes can be heard at 4.00 am. Decided Clerk writes to East Midlands Airport to enquire if there has been any changes since last letter received. Mrs. Sleath reported there are 2 big holes in the roadway by the Bus Shelter. Decided Clerk contacts Melton Borough Council to determine who is responsible for maintenance and point out danger. The holes need filling in urgently.
