MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF GRIMSTON, SAXELBYE ANDSHOBY PARISH COUNCIL HELD ON MONDAY 19TH DECEMBER 2007 AT GRIMSTONPRESENTMr. A. Lomas (Vice Chairman) Mrs. M. Sleath Mr. J. Davies Mrs. M. Fenton (Clerk)
2 Members of the Public The Vice Chairman welcomed the members of the public and invited them to speak. Member of the Public commented he attended Melton Borough Council Meeting last Wednesday. Melton Borough Council adopted Grimston change from Category 2 to Category 3 Village. The Parish Council were not aware of the change. Clerk to contact Cllr. Angrave and Planning Dept. APOLOGIES - Mr. R. Easom, Mr. E. Morris & Mr. B. Chapman MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETINGThe Minutes of the Meeting held on 19th November 2007 were approved and signed. DECLARATIONS OF INTERESTThe Members had no interests to declare at this stage. MATTERS ARISINGStocks - Clerk reported Mr. Rowley has taken the Stocks away to measure. Clerk to submit applications for funding on receipt of Estimate. Affordable Housing Draft Supplementary Planning Document - The Parish Council completed the Consultation Questionnaire. Highway Matters - The Clerk reported Joe Dickinson, Leics. Highways is dealing with Play Area Footpath, SLOW Sign on Main Street, Grimston, will be repainted after April and the Bank on Ostler’s Lane, Saxelbye, will be trimmed twice per year when other verges are cut. CORRESPONDENCE The following items were brought to the attention of the Council:- Parish Council Liaison Meeting Minutes - Circulated. LARAPLC - Charter between Local Councils and Leics. Council. Christmas Refuse Collections Timetable. Booklets Handed Out:- Community Voice Melton Mail Village Voice Branchline Biodiversity Action Plan Leics. Rural Partnership Annual Report ACCOUNTS Current Account £3252.87 Deposit Account £2999.48 Cheques signed as follows:- ABB Ltd. £44.20 The Clerk circulated Draft Budget. The Parish Council agreed to request £4000.00 as per last year on the Precept Form. The Form was signed by the Parish Councillors and the Parish Clerk. PLANNING MATTERS 31 Main Street, Grimston - (Application No. 07/01194/OUT). New 2 bedroomed dwelling. Vice Chairman reported on Site meeting. The Parish Council agreed Clerk writes to Melton Borough Council stating:- (1) The plans, as they are at present, will be an infringement with close proximity to the existing dwelling. This may cause problems in the future. (2) From a safety point of view, it would be better if the existing access remained and was shared. The access should be constructed with tarmac to alleviate noise.
Grimston Stud, 75 Main Street, Grimston (Application No. 07/01249/OUT). Demolish existing stable block and construct 5 single storey dwellings in mews style. The Parish Council support the application.
